It may not be a platform that’s particularly mainstream in the UK currently, but BigCommerce Enterprise regularly features in lists of the top eCommerce platforms in North America and is making some real headway in the mid-level and enterprise sectors at the moment. Delivered as a SaaS solution, BigCommerce tends to compete for merchants who want a fast time-to-launch, low technical resource requirements and a straightforward and user-friendly interface, both front-end and for admin users.

Whilst the enterprise market might have been dominated for a long time by the likes of Oracle (ATG and Endeca), IBM (Websphere), Magento (more recently), Demandware (Salesforce Commerce Cloud), Hybris (SAP CX) etc – things are really starting to open up now with both BigCommerce and Shopify Plus really starting to push for deals in this space. The enterprise version of BigCommerce has picked up some very credible clients in the last few years, and after a recent funding round, are really pushing things in both North America and Europe.
