Osprey
Osprey is a global brand founded in California, specialising in creating innovative and premium hiking and trekking backpacks. Osprey was established in 1974 by Mike Pfotenhauer, who identified a gap in the market for high-quality, pioneering backpacks. Since then, Osprey has risen in popularity, establishing itself as a go-to choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking comfort, functionality, and durability in their gear.
Search and social
We manage Osprey's paid social and paid search strategies, with a key focus on localisation and driving the expansion of Osprey’s presence in international markets across France, Germany, Italy, and the UK.
Before our involvement, Osprey were running very limited activity with an over-reliance on remarketing. However, since our team began working with them, paid social has now become one of their most significant and impactful channels.
The objectives
Our team identified three key strategic objectives for our campaign, these were:
- To increase growth in D2C revenue
- To increase market share across paid channels
- To scale the core markets of UK, Germany, France and Italy
The challenge
Osprey wanted to expand its reach, yet faced challenges in achieving optimal ROAS - which affected their ability to efficiently and effectively scale into new markets with paid activity.
Osprey therefore wanted to use our expertise in driving growth using paid social and paid search strategies to enter new European markets.
The solution
To drive growth in international markets, our strategy revolved around an emphasis on localisation. Our campaigns in France, Germany, and Italy made use of local language within both image and video text overlays to help resonate with the consumer. Additionally, we implemented local feeds on Meta, dynamically displaying product prices in the local currency and highlighting available stock in particular markets.
The results
With our focus on localisation, we were able to scale Osprey's activity into new markets efficiently at an improved return on investment.
Not only did we improve conversion metrics and engagement metrics, we were able to do so with a 52% improvement in ROAS.
Alongside the below stats, we also increased revenue in French markets by 369%.
